The planned actions are initially produced in the measures plan.Programming can be accessed via the "Vehicle management" / "Software update" menu.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PROGRAM WITH ISTA+ WITHOUT THESE TWO ITEMS! NOTE: Programming with ISTA+ is only possible with an ICOM and a 70+ amp rated Power Supply. Contributions to procedures/programming knowledge are most welcome. so that other people can learn and share, and the document itself can be evolved. If this document helps, post your comments, experiences etc. As with everything else, I'm no expert in ISTA+ but I'm confident many other forum members will contribute to the learnings in this thread.įinally, while acknowledging the many people who shared their knowledge, big thanks to the following individuals for their support in the creation, sources and the dialogue behind it: See these instructions for extracting the daten files from Ista/p. Get the daten files (download, extract from Progman or Ista/p). Install BMW Standard Tools 2.12 (EDIBAS, INPA, WinKFP, NCS Expert) and ensure they work with your car. Over the next few days, a few frequently used procedures will be posted. Look at the steps starting at 'Open up WinKFP' below. This is a great write-up of INPA BMW software and hardware (K+DCAN interface), incl.: Part 1: INPA software inpa bmw definition inpa 5.0.2 & 5.0.6 download inpa software install (windows XP/7/8/10) inpa driver software installation inpa bmw how to use. Try to ask questions in this thread so that other folks who are just starting out will know what issues can pop up and how to deal with them. You will probably get help but without knowing where it was obtained, it is hard to tell how to install or configure it. If you got it from somewhere else, you're on your own.Installation of ISTA+ discussed in the document is limited to sources obtained from the Rheingold/ISTA-D thread in this forum only.As things change in the program or based on feedback, updated versions might be posted. It is to get the reader to a position where they are comfortable with utilizing the features and functions of the tool. This document is not definitive and will never be. The information in the guide is based primarily on publicly available knowledge and experiences that have been consolidated into a single dynamic document that can be used to get going with ISTA+. The guide attempts to answer fundamental questions on what the tool is for, what can you do with it and how to configure it so that you can connect to the car and run diagnostics on all cars and in the case of F/G/i/Mini/RR cars, programming. This beginner's guide was created considering the number of questions that have been coming up recently whether related to installation, configuration and/or usage. While you are "at it", you might inquire of MS Geek: "WHY does Windows Update often reset COM 1, and/or Latency 1 to Latency 16, and or COM 3." That prevents proper INPA/ISTA communication with vehicle until values are reset.BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO BMW ISTA+ (INTEGRATED SERVICE TECHNICAL APPLICATION) I would recommend checking MS Websites for info on S-Mode and backward compatibility with apps running on Windows 10 or Windows 7, and see what MS has to say, rather than relying on folks like me on a car forum. Step1: Open 01Step1 file in the root of BMW INPA Download software and copy folder EC-APPS onto disk C: Step2:Run the file 01Step1NFSEntpacktdisk1SETUP. Never had an issue with any application, including INPA & ISTA. Then Click BMW INPA Download link then download the software (Or insert the Software CD if you have) Secondly Install the BMW INPA Download Software. When I got my newer Lenovo in 11/2019, it came (at a bargain price) with Windows 10 in S-Mode, and since I wanted to run many other Applications I have had for years, I opted OUT of S-Mode (quick, easy procedure). Otherwise, in S-mode, you can ONLY run apps from Windows Store. If you have Windows 11, is it running in "S-Mode"? As I understand it (please correct me if applicable -), Windows 11 default configuration is "S-Mode" which means you can ONLY use applications such as INPA and ISTA if you "Opt OUT of S-Mode".
